The Story

I’m Lise—writer, documentarian, the OG Inspirationalist, lover of dogs, seaplanes, and second chances.

My life hasn’t followed a traditional path. Born a native Californian and raised in the Hollywood hills, I spent my summers navigating the shores and islands on a windsurfer or sailboat in the US Virgin Islands. I’ve been a corporate professional, a fitness instructor,  founder of a girls’ non-profit, a competitive golfer and golf instructor, a country club membership director, an interior decorator, and now, someone who lives clothing-optional in Central Florida with my partner Ed (retired airline captain and Air Force pilot) and our three dogs.

In the span of a few years, I survived:

  • A partial hysterectomy
  • Open-heart surgery (mitral valve repair)
  • Triple-negative breast cancer

Those experiences—along with decades of unconventional living—taught me that the most powerful thing you can do is tell the truth. Not a polished, Instagram-ready version of the truth. The real, messy, beautiful, complicated truth.

That’s what Inspirationalism is about.

Beyond the Scars

I’m also the co-creator of Liquid Runways, where Ed and I document our seaplane adventures, aviation lifestyle, and the beauty of living unconventionally. We’re renovating our home at Caliente and calling it “Full-Frontal Fixer-Upper” because if you can’t laugh at life, what’s the point?

I’m working on a memoir called Flying by the Seat of My Thong—because humor and honesty go hand in hand.

Why Inspirationalism?

After years of watching people perform their lives for likes and approval, I wanted to create something different. A space where:

  • Scars are badges of honor
  • Contradictions are celebrated
  • Growth is messy and ongoing
  • Community matters more than following count

Inspirationalism is that space. And you’re invited.
